Registrar’s office representatives will also be at the Lincoln Parish Park Festival from 10 a.m. 4 p.m. on Sept. 28.
Parish residents who are not now registered have until Oct. 7 to do so in person or by mail to be eligible vote in November, either at one of the drives, at the registrar’s office, located on the ground floor of the parish Courthouse, or at the Office of Motor Vehicles, located at 104 Dan Reneau Drive.
New voters can also register online through the Louisiana Secretary of State’s GeauxVote registration system until Oct. 15.
The community sign-ups are being held in conjunction with Louisiana Voter Registration Week. Parish voters join their peers nationwide in going to the polls Nov. 5 to elect a president, and locally to decide on a congressman.
There’s also one state constitutional amendment on the ballot.Registrar of Voters Sharon Parnell said the 10 upcoming registration events are opportunities not only for new voter registrations, but also for existing voters to make changes in their current registration or enroll in the senior absentee mail ballot program.
Only two candidate races will be on the local ballot: that for president, and the 4th District Congressional race. Lincoln Parish will be in the 4th District come January as a result of congressional redistricting.
Incumbent 4th District Rep. Mike Johnson, RBenton, has one challenger, first-time candidate Joshua Morott, from Vernon Parish. Morott is also a Republican.
